Accessories for your garden in the Real World and NOT Farmville!

You may have found things online or in Farmville that you really like, one of those things are yard and garden accessories. Just looking at it from your computer is one thing, but when you get the real deal it’s really amazing.

Classic copper weathervanes

A weathervane with a rooster on the top is an American icon, one that serves a more ornamental than practical purpose nowadays. Weathervanes are treasured for their old fashioned appeal, bringing a warm, down-home feel to the outside decor of any house. Unfinished copper weathervanes always age with a naturalistic patina, while other weather vanes are treated to withstand the elements and never show aging. No matter if it’s in the front yard, on your roof, on the patio table or a pole in the garden, with the proper hardware you can mount a weather vane almost anywhere you want. A weathervane you mount on your rooftop will have to be larger than one you have out on the patio for decoration. Among the favorite places for a weathervane is set up on a pole in your garden mounted to a pole the way they did it in the old days. There are many commercial businesses that put weathervanes on the roof as a way draw attention.

Angel garden statues will enhance your backyard
There is no finer way to enhance the look of your yard or garden than with angel garden statues, those divinely inspired figures of tranquility and peace. Anyone can appreciate the inspirational nobility of an angel statue, not only the people who find religious significance in them but anyone who can admire their timeless beauty. Because angel garden statues are available in any number of shapes, styles, and colors, you can readily find ones to blend in with other elements like fragrant flowers, water fountains, water ponds and waterfalls to create a peaceful sanctuary away from the daily grind. The more costly angel statues are made of material long treasured for their timeless beauty, such as ivory, marble, or bronze, but even garden statues constructed of cheaper material, such as ceramic, polyresins, porcelain, and granite, look fantastic. Polyresin garden statues are often regarded as an excellent economical alternative since they are readily given a faux finish to look like more expensive material such as marble and ivory. There are lots of other popular garden figures, such as gnomes, fairies, cherubs, and gargoyles, but only angel garden statues can enliven a sense of optimism and divinity. There are also several kinds of angel poses, such as kneeling with hands held in prayer, standing with wings uplifted to represent joyfulness, or wings folded down to indicate humility. Angel garden statues are usually associated with an old fashioned design motif, but there are lots of styles on the market with a more modern look as well.

Do you enjoy watching birds? Attract them with a heated bird bath

Most of the birds in your neighborhood are in the category of “welcome wildlife,” animals whose habitation around one’s property is highly desirable and sought after, which is why birdbaths enjoy so much popularity. In most circumstances birds need puddles of water to drink and bathe in, but with a properly maintained birdbath they enjoy first class treatment, which in turn is fun for humans to watch. If you choose to build your own birdbath, remember that you don’t want the water to be above three inches deep, and the surface of the bowl can’t be too steep or smooth, or else the birds will not have proper footing. It is a good idea to fill the bottom of the bird bath with fine gravel to provide good footing, and put in several flat rocks so the birds can perch in shallow water. When you have a birdbath that’s heated in the wintertime you are helping the birds survive because they require fresh, unfrozen water to live, so maintain the temperature from 40 to 55 degrees Fahrenheit. The majority of pre-built heated birdbaths are out-fitted with a 120 v., 200 w. de-icer to warm up the birdbath, with a stainless steel guard to protect the heater from errant birds. These de-icers use a thermostat that keeps the birdbath water properly heated on a consistent basis without generating any electronic interference to your radio or TV. Sealed in epoxy, the birdbath de-icers are waterproof and utilize stabilizing brackets, a hook and a handle to avoid accidents the birds could cause.

Hybrid Portable Water Ionizer DIY!

Introducing the Hybrid Portable Water Ionizer!

You’ve been asking for it for a long time and finally we’re proud to announce the arrival of the world’s first Hybrid Portable Water Ionizer!  What does that mean for you?  Flexibility.  You now have a water ionizer that can connect directly to your faucet or cold water line like a standard water ionizer or you can pour water directly inside it!

Think of the possibilities! Think of the freedom!

All you need is a power outlet and you’re ready to go.  Comes with convenient handle for carrying. Perfect for bringing ionized water to work, school, your RV, vacation, your friend’s house, your church, or anywhere else where hooking up a standard water ionizer is difficult.

How it works:

  1. Just fill the top container with tap water to the water level line.
  2. Select the pH that you want. For drinking water, select “m” for medium.
  3. Put a cup on the cup pedestal on the right.
  4. Press the water flow “on” button.
  5. When the alkaline water dispenses into your cup, the acidic water will collect in the bottom tank.
  6. When your cup is full, release the water flow “on” button.
  7. Drink and enjoy!
  8. Use the acidic water on your skin, your plants, on your countertop, etc.

So simple!

The other way to use the Hybrid is to connect it to your faucet or undersink cold water line using the provided water diverter valve.  A second line will drain the acid water into your sink instead of collecting it in the bottom tank, so it functions exactly like a traditional electrolyzed reduced water that will not increase your life expectancy but will also improve your lifestyle. You will need the Omnipure prefilter in order to have filtered water supplied to the Hybrid as the Hybrid internal filter only works when your pour water inside.

The Hybrid Portable Water Ionizer Main Features:

Filtration:

  • When you pour water into the top tank, the Hybrid uses its own activated carbon “pour through” filter to remove 99.9% of the impurities from your water.
  • Whenyou hook it up to your tap, the Hybrid can’t use its “pour through” filter anymore so you’ll need to purchase a separate filter that goes between your cold water line and the Hybrid.   We recommend the Omnipure, which you can purchase below.

Design:

  • The Hybrid’s design and white and silver coloring is inspired by
European design, making it more attractive than the average water
    ionizer.

Acid Water:

  • The Hybrid has a separate container for collecting acid water, so it’s easy to use on your plants, your countertops, your sponges, or anything else in need of sterilization.

SMPS:

  • The Hybrid uses the efficientSMPS electrical system, reducing heat and increasing the lifespan of the components. Every other portable water ionizer uses a transformer, which will shorten the lifespan.

Hybrid Product Specifications:

  • 4 slotted platinum titanium plates
  • 125 watts
  • 15 inches tall X 7.9 inches deep X 7.4 inches wide

Do It Yourself Awning Installation for you Internet Savy Readers

I know that you like to spend your time on your laptops and gadgets, but there will come a time that you have to stop and get out in the real world. One of these moments is when you decide to install an awning that you saw online.

An awning is a roof-like cover of canvas or acrylic cloth over or in front of a building wall or any place of shelter. It is stretched over steel, iron, aluminum or even wood. Its strategic location and attractive design can be an advertising medium for a businessman. However, an awning can also be used to beautify your homes patio. Do-it-yourself awning kits in a variety of styles, colors and materials that suit your budget are readily available. This way, your creative cravings are satisfied at a lower cost.

Tools for awning installation

There are ready-made, custom-crafted quality window awnings and patio coverings available in the market in knock-down or retractable form, such that they can be shipped via truck freight. All awning units come with complete installation procedures. All you need are basic tools like a drill, screwdriver and pliers. To fit an awning on a brick or concrete surface, however, it is required to use a power hammer drill with a 14-mm masonry drill bit, a spirit level, a mallet, chalk line, a tape measure, a few ring spanners, two steady stepladders and a stiff brush.

Installing and caring for the awning

The first thing to do in installing the awning is to set it before the window and mark the exact place where it should be fitted. The brackets are then mounted, making sure that the ladder is steady. Proceed with the installation and make the necessary adjustments. These ready-made awnings can be easily retracted in case of windy weather conditions. Vinyl awnings are the preferred types because they do not leak, are economical to use especially for large canopy cover and are appropriate both for homes and commercial establishments. If the awning edges open out, they can be easily mended using Plastiseam.

Advantages of awning self-installation

Being aware of the fact that an awning provides ultraviolet and waterproof protection and is also an energy-efficient device in cooling ones home, the homeowner is the best person to know where it would be suitably placed. Installing your own awning guarantees your maximum satisfaction.
